a mishmash

Isn't this funny- I had snapped a photo of my son doing his school work outside on this nice spring day and at that moment the dog ran by with our 4 year old's snow boot in his mouth.

My husband and son have started a couple garden beds here, even though we'll be moving to the new place this summer. We plan to start some gardens over there, too. ;)

I like this photo. I think it's just a nice farmy scene.

Tick season is back! Ew! We found this one inside our house, climbing up a window. (I stuck it in tape so we could all view it carefully)

Happy Gertie. The day we put her out on the new spring grass, her milk production immediately went up! She's giving about a half gallon more now that she's eating grass again. Now she gives about 2 and 1/4 gallons per day. Far from record making in the cow world, but a lot of milk for us! (And a lot more cheese and butter making for me...)

Her calf (rather, the one she came with. Not biologically hers but reared by her just the same) He's about 10 months old and just as playful and stubborn as ever. He still acts like a big baby. He's a good little calf.

We have too many roosters. My husband and I each picked our 3 favorites to keep, plus we'll keep The Man Rooster king of the barnyard. It was so hard for me to pick just 3! This Jersey Giant here made my list though.

Baby bunnies are so cute. Have I mentioned that before? ;)

"Let me sniff your camera!"

This bunny guy was standing up to look at a rooster that was crowing. Cute!

  1. Aubrey, I got a great chuckle out of the first picture of the dog running by with a boot.

Diatomaceous earth for the ticks! We have some food grade here. Here is a website for it and all the uses.
